Kindle for PC

I have always enjoyed reading. As a child and then later as a teenager, I could be found devouring most any work of Christian fiction. I spent hours reading my fair share of the Sugar Creek Gang series, and the Love Comes series by one of my teenage favorite authors Jeanette Oke. There's something to be said for allowing your mind to explore new places and ideas held within the covers of a good book. 
As I grew older, the desire to read didn't fade, but the time I had to read did. I would see a book with a cover that intrigued me, purchase the book, take it home, open the cover and smell the pages (don't tell me that you don't do that . . .), read the first chapter or maybe two, and then fall asleep! The book would sit on my nightstand, be dusted every week, and then eventually be put back on the shelf with the other books that had the same fate. So here I was, a shelf of very attractive covers, collecting dust.

My New Favorite Bread Recipe

Here is it folks, the BEST bread machine bread recipe I think I've tasted. I use the dough cycle on my bread maker and then bake it in the oven. I *tried* baking this recipe in my maker on the rapid bake cycle and was not at all pleased with the results. 
This recipe makes one "regular" sized loaf.
INGREDIENTS 1 cup hot water2 teaspoons yeast3 tablespoons sugar1/4 cup vegetable oil1 teaspoon salt3 cups white flour
DIRECTIONSPut your hot water, yeast and sugar in your bread machine. Let stand 6-12 minutes depending on the temp of your water. Your yeast will foam.Add remaining ingredients.Use rapid or basic white cycles.Or bake for 25 minutes @ 350.

Easy Italian Breadsticks

The time of soup and chili is *finally* upon us. Not many thins pair with soup like homemade bread and if you are like me, there's nothing quite like the aroma of freshly baking bread. Here's a recipe I found over at Money Saving Mom's site that's easy (you use your bread machine to do the work!) Try it the next time you need breadsticks and let me know what you think!
Easy Italian Breadsticks1 cup warm water3 Tablespoons butter1 1/2 teaspoons salt3 cups flour2 Tablespoons sugar1 teaspoon Italian seasoning1 teaspoon garlic powder2 1/4 teaspoons yeastTopping: 2 Tablespoons butter (melted)2 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheesePlace ingredients in your bread machine in order listed. Run the dough cycle. When complete, divide the dough into 12 balls and form into 4-6-inch ropes. Cover and let rise for 20 minutes or until doubled. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
Mix the butter and parmesan cheese and brush over breadsticks as soon as they come out of the oven.
