Sore Throat Culprits And Cures – Fuzzy Wuzzy Wednesday

Tissues websizeI don’t know about you, but I am really getting anxious for Spring. We’ve been digging out from under the snow and cold for what seems like an eternity.

7 Ways to Encourage Your Children to Read

7 Ways to Encourage Your Children to Read — Life As Mom

FishPapa and I are major bookworms. For years we lived without TV or
VCR because we so much preferred reading. Our date nights were often
spent browsing through Borders or talking about the books we were
reading. He prefers theology and I prefer novels, so we’re good foils
for one another. Recently, he read a memoir, which is close to a novel,
and I’m getting ready to tackle a Bible commentary. Oh my word! We’re
probably starting to look like each other, too!

How to Build Your Own “Modified Staycation” Vacation Package | Squawkfox

Looking for Ways to Veg Out? — Life As Mom
If you’ve read anything health-related in the past 10 years, you know there have been all sorts of trends when it comes to acceptable eating. Dairy, soy, eggs and bacon — all have seen their time to shine — until a new study or super food hits the scene. But some things never change.

Your mother was right: You should eat your veggies.

5 Steps To Safely Disinfect Your Wooden Cutting Boards – Tidy Tuesday

Cutting BoardWe seem to have been given a reprieve from the winter weather today. And, with the warmer weather and sunshine, albeit limited sunshine, I normally look for an outside chore to do. Although this may not be an outside chore on the surface, I’m going to turn it into one.

Make Your Home Cozy and Welcoming For Guests

Make Your Home Cozy and Welcoming For Guests

I believe that it is possible for a home to be welcoming and comfortable, as well as beautiful and functional. Nobody loves a home that seems too sterile, a place they are afraid to sit down and make themselves cozy. Every guest should feel comfortable when they step inside.

Tips and Tricks to Combat Cooking Burn Out

Tips and Tricks to Combat Cooking Burn Out from Deal Seeking Mom.
The following is a guest post from Beth at In Good Cents:

We all know the truth. Staying home and cooking is much more affordable and frugal than eating out.

I love to cook, but with three kids who think any time I’m in the kitchen is the perfect time to start acting crazy, I burn out quickly. After just a few days of cooking, I find myself on the phone with my sweet husband saying, “Please… please… please, stop on the way home and pick something up!”

Shoe Repair Will Save Money and Your Soles

Frugal Friday: Shoe Repair Will Save Money and Your Soles — Life As Mom

Back in the old days, clothing and shoes were items that people wore for a long time. In fact, if an article of clothing became torn or worn, it was repaired, or even remade to present a freshened look. If they couldn’t make the adjustments themselves, women took their family’s clothing to seamstresses and tailors for alterations. And shoes that needed to be repaired or resoled? Those went to the cobbler.
