Chocolate Crumb Bars
This recipe was shared on FaceBook by my friend Kim. Her daughter made them for her Home-Ec class. Many kudos to CAROLINE for sharing the chocolate love tonight.
CHOCOLATE CRUMB BARS
2 sticks margarine, softened 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 2 cups (12 oz. pkg) semi-sweet chocolate morsels 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Preheat oven to 350. Grease 9x13 baking pan.
Beat margarine until creamy. Beat in flour, sugar and salt until crumbly. With floured fingers, press 2 cups crumb mixture onto bottom of prepared pan; reserve remaining mixture. Bake 10-12 min. or until edges are golden brown.
Combine 1 cup morsels and sweetened condensed milk in heavy-duty saucepan. Warm over low heat, stirring until smooth. Stir in vanilla. Spread over hot crust.
Stir in nuts and remaining morsels into reserved crumb mixture; sprinkle over chocolate filling.
Bake 25-30 minutes or until center is set. Cool in pan on wire rack.
One thing that is been very helpful to me during times of wait is to keep a “Thanksgiving Journal”. Basically you take a moment each day and write one or two things you are thankful for in a pretty notebook, or keep the document on your computer or your phone. It helps during times of wait, to be able to look back and see all the wonderful things that God has done for you.
